Ongoing Mondays and Fridays
The Widener University Observatory will hold hour-long public viewings from 8 to 9 p.m. Visitors can view celestial objects through telescopes and receive a basic tour of the night sky from a Widener astronomy professor. The observatory is located on the fifth floor of Kirkbride Hall at 17th and Walnut streets in Chester. Donations for the Media-Upper Providence Library Book Sale are being accepted. A reenactment of the Battle of Brandywine will take place at the Brandywine Battlefield, Route 1, Chadds Ford, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be tours, food and other activities. BoothandLowe Stock, a family festival featuring six local bands, food, races, a pool and raffles, will be held from noon to 6:30 p.m. at DeLaSalle Swim Club, 18 W. Baltimore Pike, Springfield. The Everyday Lives Committee from the Delaware County Office of Mental Retardation is hosting the third of a four- part series on employment and employability for individuals with disabilities.
